Infrastructure

Over 73% of the roads that the township is responsible for are paved. Compared to the surrounding townships we are doing well in improving our roads (see chart below). But improving and maintaining these roads comes at a price. It requires staff, equipment, time, and supplies. All things that must be managed wisely on a limited budget. In addition to the roads, the township also maintains the township park, two cemeteries, and all the assets that go along with the township road right-of-way like signs, guardrails, ditches, and catch basins.

To assist the Road Superintendent, I believe the Township Trustees should have information about these assets at their fingertips. My work experience provides me the tools to offer this to the township. As trustee, I would create an inventory of all these assets that is easily available to not only the trustees but also to the general public because as residents we have a right to all public information.

I always like to show people what can be done rather than tell them. To that end, I’ve already gathered some information about some township assets and created a mapping website where you as a resident can explore what the township manages. The site is a work in progress but follow this link to check it out: Explore Kingsville
