About Me

I grew up in Kingsville and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1991.  I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Anthropology / Archaeology from Kent State University.  Mapping work I did for my master’s thesis allowed me to get a job with Lake County’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department. I was very fortunate to find a job in the area and fulfill my goal of moving back to Kingsville after college and being able to raise my children in the same safe, welcoming community that fostered my growth. After 22 years with Lake County where I rose from a technician to the head of the department, I moved to the private sector doing the same kind of mapping work.

I was elected as a Kingsville Township Trustee in 2017 and have served in this position for the last 8 years. Since becoming a trustee, I’ve taken advantage of training offered by the Ohio Township Association (OTA) and completed their Leadership Academy during my first term.

I view my Township position as the best way to use my skills to give back to the community. Other people may do this through service organizations, volunteer programs, or their church but with my personal interests and skillsets, I have found this job to be the most effective and rewarding way I can make a difference. I like problem-solving and trying to find the best, most efficient way to run things.
